Mosier Community School and Oregon State Assessments for 2024-2025

Every year students in grades 3-8 and 11, throughout Oregon take state assessments prescribed by the Oregon Department of Education.  In addition, Mosier Community School uses Amplify for K-5 assessment of literacy and i-Ready for K-5 math.

These tests include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA21) and Alt-ELPA

  • Oregon Statewide Assessments (OSA) - Standard and Extended (ORExt)

    • Science

    • English Language Arts (ELA)

    • Mathematics

  • Amplify-Reading

  • i-Ready Reading

  • i-Ready Math

The purpose of the assessments is to show individual student growth over time and to provide supplementary student-specific data that teachers can use to ensure each and every child is on track to reach goals for college and career readiness.

Oregon state law requires all districts to inform parents that a form is available from the Oregon Department of Education that provides the opportunity to opt your child out of the ELA and/or Math assessments for the school year. The form must be filed annually and is available in 14 languages. Should you choose to opt your child out of providing valuable information about his/her progress in English Language Arts and/or Math as compared to peers statewide, then please fill out the form found on this website and submit it to Jennifer Langley at P.O. Box 307, Mosier, OR 97040, or return the form to our office.
